Pre Surgical Instructions

Dress comfortably and wear short sleeves.

Please bring a light jacket or a sweater.

If you are to take a prophylactic antibiotic (i.e for prosthetic joint) please take 1 hour prior to surgery appointment.

If you are taking any medications for heart, blood pressure, diabetes etc. please take your normal dosage.

If you are taking a daily regimen of aspirin or an aspirin containing product, youMUST discontinue this 5-7 days prior to surgery.

If you are taking medications such as Coumadin or Insulin we may need to coordinate with your physician any adjustments in dosage prior to surgery.

Let the doctor know if you are taking , or have taken any bisphonate medications (i.e. Fosomax, Boniva)
